At the beginning of the year, I asked my followers what they’d like to see. Some of you that know me well requested a home tour. Since we just started moving dirt for our new home build, I realized I better share this now before it’s too late. I love to decorate, and this is probably the longest I’ve left MOST of a house alone while living in it. You also have to realize that I’ve moved pretty frequently. In fact, this is the 7th house I have owned in 16 years. By the time we leave, I will have spent more time in this house than any other home except the very home I grew up in. Needless to say, I’m attached, there are just some things about the floor plan I would have done differently if I had built it from the ground up. Without further ado, here’s a tour of our home!

Our home around dusk. This was the very beginning of last summer and our plants were just babies!
We started out with pink walls that we just recently painted gray in this nursery. I love how soothing the gray feels compared to the pink.

These two hutches are my favorite pieces of furniture in the entire house. I’ve got to figure out where to use them in the new house!

Our open kitchen. We decided to add the patio door after we moved in. You’ll see why at the bottom!
Our living room. Lots of blankets that I should have folded up before sharing with you, but lets be real, the dogs (or I) would have them out again in no time.

That built-in office I mentioned. I love this space. It’s more than I need for just an office, so the cabinets are field with arts and crafts and books.

This was obviously taken when Ava was just a newborn. It was so nice to have the extra space for baby!

As you can see, our previous “sitting room” (built as an office but not needed when there’s already one built in by the master bedroom) turned into a playroom. We love the convenience of our downstairs play area!
Upstairs guest bath just off another bedroom that we don’t currently use as a bedroom…all the random extra furniture has found a home there now.

This is our guest bedroom and where our nanny spends most of her nights. It’s my personal favorite from a decoration standpoint. Lots of things I love fill this room!
Work areas: Mud room, Laundry Room, and Tandem Garage. Not the prettiest spots in the house but all of them useful nonetheless!

This was the original patio to the home. It’s a beautiful space still, but the land had so much more to offer…
And now this is our patio and pool. This side of the house was an empty side yard full of nothing but spotty green grass. This was our first (and really our only) big project on this home and it has paid dividends. We spend the vast majority of our time out here. And you can see why!
Like I said, we are finally making moves on our forever home that we are building. We hope to be fully moved in within a year, if not sooner. I have really loved this home from the moment we bought it. It’s location is phenomenal (and we are less than 10 minutes to the hospital even in traffic), it has great schools, and the neighbors are outstanding. I often wonder why we are moving, but I know when it’s all said and done, I’ll be super excited we did it.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy! If you have tips on building a new home and moving with a newborn, I’d love to hear them! Don’t forget to follow my on Instagram and Facebook!
