Today, I hurt.
I’ve been talking about this pandemic for well over a month. My friend list is dwindling, and there are several people I don’t plan on catching up with when this pandemic is over—and now entire communities.
America’s privilege is showing, in a terrible way. Rural areas that have been luckily unaffected are casting aside the concern and death that is plaguing urban areas like New York. In Lansing, an ambulance was prevented from making it to the hospital (and none of us know who was in that ambulance or why) all because of Operation Gridlock. Instead of staying home to show any amount of solidarity with those that are losing their lives, people took it upon themselves to actively prevent someone from receiving emergency medical care. Instead of innovating ways to promote their business and start thinking about a NEW normal, they possibly caused a covid-related death for someone that may not even have covid.
My college town is asking for small businesses to reopen–with a covid death rate of 1 in 15 while the state has a death rate of 1 in 21. That means the community isn’t doing as well as the rest of the state and continues to put its selfish needs before the lives of anyone needing medical care and anyone providing it. Meanwhile, people going nowhere are still getting the virus because people are BRINGING it to them (those in nursing homes).

I am so tired. I’m tired of watching people beg to return to “normalcy”. I miss perpetually making travel plans. I want my kid back at daycare to see her friends and teachers and romp around at the park/playground. I want to see my parents. I’m tired of WebEx meetings. I’m privileged to miss all of this.
I’m over:
-everyone thinking this will magically disappear while case numbers and deaths continue to rise
-my friends’, my family’s, and my own life not meaning anything to people.
-acting like they are the only ones hurting because their business is closed.
-the entire anti-medicine establishment.
-anti-vaxxers using this as propaganda.
-“friends” sharing conspiracy theories and total bullshit.
-thinking every doctor and nurse in America got together and thought “let’s shut down the economy by begging people to stay home”.
-healthcare worker memorials, there are a handful EVERYDAY. I’m tired of losing colleagues.
-losing young people, the elderly, losing a disproportionate amount of African Americans.
-knowing people are losing their health insurance when they need it the most.
-blocking people on Instagram, unfollowing people on Facebook, and marking people off my list of “friends”.
-our lack of knowledge about this virus.
-wondering what it will be like when we DO re-open society.
-thinking less and less people will comply each time we may have to “shelter-in-place” in the future.
-personal freedoms being more important than a healthy society that can live free together.
-worrying what the rebound effect of finally being able to do elective procedures will do to hospitals.
-the concern for what my favorite sport will do to the census in our hospitals.
-explaining that this is NOTHING like the flu.
-explaining of epidemiology and science.
-mixed signals from the federal government, the state government, and even hospital administrators.
-constant changes in PPE protocols due to an ongoing shortage.
-anyone not taking it seriously.

Everyone at home getting a monthly check from the govt, retirement or able to work from home, either send that money to the people who don’t or can’t work from home..or seriously just stfu.
Excuse me, but after working since I was 14, I became disabled in 1988. I’m now in a wheelchair, have a fused spine, and am on oxygen 24/7. I paid into Social Security all of my working life. My husband, an electrical engineer, recently became disabled, too. Neither one of us can work, even though we’d love to. So, according to you, I should send back the stimulus $ that was deposited into our account recently? Why? Because we’re disabled and the $$ we paid into the system is now being paid back to us and labeled a stipend? Have YOU ever had to rely on a disability check? I don’t like self righteous jerks, either, and you need to seriously take a look in the mirror. You know not of which you speak.
The request was an either/or choice, so keep the money and take the other option. Simple.
I’m sorry for your situation, but ease up on “Sick of …..Asses” – you missed the last part of the comment. They said everyone like you either donate the pension (and here’s the last part) “or stfu”. In effect they are saying if you’re sitting at home and your income stream has been unaffected, don’t demand that places open up further putting health care workers at risk. Similar to you, I am in the group the comment mentions, staying at home drawing a pension, and I completely agree with the comment.
Didn’t take long for the whining assholes to turn up.
Darn right ! You are right.
You are 100% Loved! Hang in there, be safe, take care? 🙏❤️🙏
Thank you for what you do, from one health care worker to another. It’s never enough! I’m in NYC..we are breaking so many rules to save lives. We didn’t ask for this, but we sure as hell didn’t turn our backs either. God help us!❤️🙏🙏
Sick, by the way your name reads, I suppose you’re talking about yourself? Cut it out. Your comment is unnecessary and adds absolutely NO value. Unbelievable. The privilege in this country is DEFINITELY showing and you further perpetuate the connotation.
Orrrrr, you could find a job where you could be safe working at home. Your choice. No one is forcing you. It’s called self-determination.
I’ll be your new friend! I’m at home, I’m looking f or a job, my medication costs to keep my transplant are not covered after Sept. I can’t work a frontline job due to elderly parents and my own immune system issues. I agree wholeheartedly with you. I’m trying to correct misleading articles as I come across friends that are posting them. It’s an endless bucket of over privileged people that don’t care about anyone but themselves. Thanks for working so hard, and resisting the urge to stab the dumb ones with a rusty Blunt needle. ;).
Hey, I’m a hospital chaplain in upstate New York. I’ve been feeling super dismayed how many are reacting to this as well. On top of everything else, it’s awful to have to navigate against propaganda and ignorant politicization that stirs people up in our new normal of “facts are whatever you want them to be.” I’m angry about it. I’m so sad at the losses, the way families and communities are being ravaged.
It saddens me also the impact this has on hospital staff, both physically and emotionally. I’m sorry you’re going through all of this.
I wish there was more to say that could mean anything in this moment, but: you’re not alone in this. Thank you so much for doing what you’re doing. It is important. Many of us out here have your back.
Keep telling the truth. We need it. May you be safe and well.
Good for you “Karen” Show us how virtuous you really are!! Delete all your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat friends that are oppose your ideals! It’s sure good to be an essential service during a pandemic isn’t it!!!…You’ll still have an income, a purpose in life, and something to get up for in the morning. Good for you!!! Here’s the reality many of us can see….. An unprecedented number of people on the planet don’t have the same set of circumstances as you. These people are now without work and have little to no income (unless they take government handouts, and that’s only if they qualify!!) These people are getting desperate. They are afraid of losing everything they have worked for, they are tired of being told by incompetent bureaucrats and so called leaders how to live. They are sick of being threatened by these same so called leaders of being punished for “stepping out of line” Most just want to return to a normal life again…..So it’s not necessarily selfishness and greed driving these folks to protest the lock-downs. Most people are common sense and can think critically. Why a lock-down over this so called pandemic when there are other far more deadly diseases in the world? I am by no means an expert on math but I do understand statistics so even I question the response to this “pandemic” It’s become a strange place when some one can throw burning objects in front of trains or blockade essential services without punishment but a father is given an $800 fine for rollerblading with their children in an empty lot!
That’s exactly right. I don’t need to surround myself with friends that don’t support me. (Not should others). I don’t have the time or energy for toxicity and conflict for the sake of conflict anymore. I know people are hurting. Just because we are essential does not mean we are making the income you think we all are. Doctors are losing pay just like everyone else—even those risking their lives on the frontlines. On a daily average there is nothing currently more deadly than covid. Nothing. If you want to deny multiple organizations that’s for you. But to argue with those of us actually seeing what this does to people (it’s not just a flu) then I suggest you either gain personal experience with the disease yourself or leave it alone. You’re not afraid of risking everything if you’re willing to block other people from receiving care or going to work themselves. It means you’re bored and not looking for how you can help but only how you can continue to obstruct any progress. I don’t think anyone should be punished for being outside with immediate family. But I do think gathering needs to be limited until we have a treatment or a vaccine. Otherwise we will continue to hurt the economy every time the healthcare system gets overwhelmed. And I’m also tired of explaining that it’s not the mortality dare that worries anyone. It’s the constraints on the healthcare system. Covid patients are in the hospital for WEEKS, not days like almost everything we else treat. If we aren’t discharging people, we can’t admit people. If the numbers rise too quickly we can’t provide care to people when they need it. Otherwise, take your attitude elsewhere.
I’m sorry you even have to reply to that. It’s not enough to say thank you for what you’re doing – but thank you – and thank you for sharing this too.
shared your post… we need more of healthcare voices, less from politicians.. thank you.. for the post, for the blog, for caring for patients like you do no matter what.
sorry ,,there are plenty of things more deadly then this virus,,cars kill more people than this virus will ,then there is heart disease and obesity ,and many other things ,,
On the daily mark, covid is in the lead.
This is my 50th year in nursing and as a nurse educator and consultant in health care facilities. At this time, like every other challenging time in our lives, there are those that either learn from a journey that life takes us on, or not. There is no room for anger nor rudeness like Doctor Enough is experiencing on here. I, along with many health care providers have zero tolerance for ignorance! Until you have walked in the shoes of anyone in health care, then do not judge—for you may be the next person we will be taking care of. Enough is enough! Of course we chose our profession, but we never thought there would come a time, when so many people that we educate on any subject in our area of expertise, would not listen to the reality of what is going on! It appears those that are rude on here, should get up in an invisible helicopter and look down at yourself, how you conduct yourself and what you are learning —-before you open your mouth —please use the manners you were taught as a child. It is a time for compassion, kindness, empathy and understanding—I personally have lived through 3 cancers, 14 surgeries, a terminal diagnosis and all the while losing all of my brothers in the month of July—-and I am still here and happy to be alive! Every day you are given is a treasure, not to be wasting energy with anger—shine on everyone and DoctorEnough—I honor you, I respect your feelings and I thank you for this message you gave.Carry on!
You didn’t even have to replay to that clown. You’re on the front lines; not him’
You are seeing the tragic deaths; not him
You words have meaning; his are just a bunch of regurgitated talking points that he got from his favorite politicians.
Keep fighting the good fight..no need to respond to these callous right wing ghouls who place no value on human life and don’t care about anyone but themselves.
Sweetie, you’re mad at the wrong people. Be mad the the government and the movement, who love to claim that all lives matter and that the vulnerable need protection. They aren’t stepping up when it counts. They never have and nowhere is it more apparent now. They’ve made sure the billionaires are taken care of, but you, Sugar, are nothing to them.
I lived in the US for 10 years but I’m so happy to have moved back to Canada. While their response hasn’t been perfect, the Government of Canada is stepping up to try to help people, including students. The US government is helping billionaires, as you said Eliska. #RememberInNovember
I don’t think you meant it, but it sounds condescending and disrespectful to call the author “sweetie” and “sugar.” Also, they are allowed to be angry at the things that are wearing them down daily. I understand your point – the government, especially in the US, has botched the handling of this pandemic in many ways, but there are also a lot of people saying and doing some pretty harmful things and that’s what this doctor is expressing and I think their anger is valid – as is yours! Good luck to you and take care!
first of all stop patronizing this woman by calling her sweetie and sugar.
Secondly, she is completely justified in her anger towards selfish people.
Do NOT refer to this as “pandemic” with quotation marks, like maybe it doesn’t really exist. Are you really that ignorant??
This is true people ….I’m still working tho I don’t know why make very little money and still no stimulus check I’m still in harms way everydayPeople are not taking this serious bc they can stay home and make more .So stop rushing the process why are they worried about things reopening
Wayne, were you the one fined $800 for not complying??
Look, if you feel you don’t have a sense of purpose right now or a job, you can easily apply at any number of business that are open, they are a ton of them that would be THRILLED to have additional workers. My BIL is working at FedEx and is working 15 hour days 6 days a week. Grocery stories, stores that do take out and curbsite, home depot/lowes, etc.. there are a bunch of places open right now.. Heck I am sure your local hospital would LOVE to have you come help out.
So for you to sit at your computer and complain at someone who is out there saving lives and calling her “Karen” when you are being the ultimate Karen right now.. yeah.. go pull on your own boot straps and see how far that gets you
People there are many people hiring right now. For business owners there are many needs that people have that you may be able to meet with some innovative thinking.
Its rough for everyone but especially those who are sick!
Let’s hold on to our humanity in these most difficult times.
People who are not in health care or actually seeing and taking care of the sick you have no idea… please people be patient
Dear Doc,
I am just an old broken down retired RN (U of M) and a retired Detroit Police Officer (GSW to face in 1976). You so need to know that the majority of us out here support the stay home stay safe. Some of us do understand what you are going through. There have always been people who have opinions which they are not capable of defending but hold very dear. So through your depression because of your hours, the horror you see, not being able to really talk with family members as their loved ones are dying you get angry. Remember please that me and my family may need you.
I wish i could talk to you in person and bring your spirits back up. So from an old RN who’s daughter is working with covid pts.
Remember those with a wit of intelligence respect you and the work you do.
Marty Fuhrmann
Death tests of 1 in 15 and 1 in 21? Cite your sources. Even NYC is not seeing rates this high.
Yes they are. It’s a case fatality rate, not overall mortality rate. You can look these up on any state public health department website.
I would like to take just a moment to say thank you! I’ve gone through over 40 major surgeries, am fighting Alpha-1, and have to go to an oncology suite every Wednesday for Prolastin infusions through the port in my chest. I see how tired and worn down my nurses have become. I have watched the sparkle in their eyes slowly fade. I see how worried they are, not just for their families, but all of the patients they treat. I see the sores and bruises on their faces from having to wear true N95 masks with face shields all day. I also have an actual service dog I used to bring in with me, and they looked forward to seeing her; but I don’t bring her during this outbreak. I’m one of those who, if I have to go on a ventilator, will never come off of it. I struggle for every breath I take. So THANK YOU for all you do.
Thank you for being there for people who are experiencing the worst thing to ever happen to them. Thank you for caring about other people’s needs as they fight to live. Thank you for your skill, your compassion, your heart, and the sacrifices you make for others. Just…thank you.
For the person who made the comment you’re responding to: CoVid19 is killing people to the point MORTICIANS are being overwhelmed and asking for help. There are no shortcuts when embalming someone, nor can you cremate someone more rapidly. There are makeshift morgues being set up to store bodies. Yet you want to argue with someone on the front lines! What have YOU done to try and help?!
I’ve worked in government for over a decade in law enforcement a cyber roles, so I can relate. I’ve been dealing with idiot friends posting lunacy for years, although fortunately, not as many people died (conspiracy theories and online outrage have been getting people killed for a while, no doubt about that).
But still, that frustration of people ignoring obvious facts just leaves you feeling powerless and hopeless.
My approach has been a little different. I just mute or snooze them. Often times the ones sharing the garbage are the ones who need a hug. They’re embracing these fringe theories because they’re usually the folks that have been rejected in enough other ways, they don’t feel accepted by “mainstream” people. They’ve always gotten their sense of importance by going against the grain, as have I, on many issues. Hence why we’re friends.
We disagree on this critical thing. But that’s where love needs to win. When this is all said and done, the world is probably going to be changing. I’ll want my social and professional networks strong when this is over.
And if people disagree with me, I hope they take the same stance and love me. Because maybe I can help them when this is over.
It will end. Someday. It’s a shit sandwich and we get to take a big bite today. And tomorrow. And for a while.
But it will end. Where will we be standing and who will be standing with us when the fires burn out and we’re staring at the ashes?
That’s why I’m choosing love.
BEAUTIFUL COMMENTS! The world needs more people like you!
Mr. Orange, you have a huge heart! <3
According to Lansing Police and Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, no patient in an ambulance was delayed from receiving the care they needed by “Operation Gridlock.”
https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2020/04/21/police-rebut-whitmer-claims-ambulances-blocked-protest-traffic/5169518002/
The very fact they were there is the issue. There is NO reason/excuse to block traffic to a hospital, whether or not there is a consequence.
Reading you, believing you, appreciating you, aligning with you, sharing your words.
Thank you for your work, your spirit, and your words. We are home and hopeful, and we’re grateful for you and all other essential employees who allow us to stay home and keep those numbers from soaring.
I’m kind of in love with you right now. In a strictly, “You are An Epic BadAss, Love Warrior” kinda way..😏
While I’m not a healthcare worker, I can never truly understand what you’re going through and seeing on a day-to-day basis. You have every reason to be frustrated and tired. I wouldn’t be so hard on those protesting, though. Most of us don’t see what it’s like inside the hospitals, but people are scared — scared they will lose their business, scared they won’t be able to feed their family. And, yes, there are government programs out there to help, but even with that, a lot of it is not making it to those who really need it and a record number of businesses won’t make it through to the other side of this. Suicide rates skyrocket during times of recession and depression, alcoholism and drug use rise. Extra hotlines have been set up to help people who are feeling hopeless. I, for one, appreciate everything the medical people are doing, but I also feel for those who are feeling that their worlds are falling out from underneath them in other ways.
Part of the audacity in these cries for opening businesses again is that there are millions of families that lost their homes, lost their jobs, lost their insurance, couldn’t buy life saving medicine for their spouse or child, lost their vehicle, lost their funding for college or degrees because they had to drop out of college, lost Their retirement, lost everything due to illness or loss of career long before this virus. During the massive tax cuts for sending jobs over seas, the housing market crash, etc. Or have never had any of these things. The point is stuff happens, people lose homes, jobs, insurance every day and always have.
These folks are not special because they have lost or are losing theirs now during a pandemic. They will just have to start over like everybody else who has gone through this. Suck it up buttercup, is what we were told. And that’s what we did. Some did commit suicide, some never made it back on their feet, some made it back and did better than ever. But guess what? Even if everything in the world opened back up tomorrow there will be no business. There will be. Short spurt of business for two weeks, then a massive number of deaths and new illnesses that may by then kill these same folks that wanted to work, or open their businesses again.
I think any places that do open should include the fact that the actual OWNER/OWNERS OF THE BUSINESS must work in the same capacity as their workers, and not sit at home and just get the money.
A million thanks to you and your coworkers for your service and your sacrifice!!! Ignore the haters who are willing to put you and others at risk by venturing out. <3 <3 <3
Cindi you are a well spoken Woman nurse niece mother wife grandmother, you give the people truth about what is going on some people don’t seem to care but you keep doing what you’re doing because there is people out there listening to you I am very proud of you and I love you very much, keep putting the message some people are listening Some are not because there’s too much to read. You need to be a spokes woman for what is going on right now you know a lot you have been a nurse for 30 years you are risking your life to help others and I am very proud of that. Keep up the good work take care of yourself and let people know what’s going on rather they want to know or not. Aunt June
Does CFR mean that of every 15 people that get it, 1 dies? What city or stae is this? Serious question.
Yes, 1 of every 15 known cases (this does not count anyone that hasn’t been tested which actually reflect mortality rates). Lubbock.
As of April 27
United States
Coronavirus Cases:
987,322
Deaths:
55,415
.056%
less than 1 per 100
Am I doing the math wrong?
Yes you are doing the math wrong. You need to multiply by 100 to change that result into a percentage. So that makes 5.6% or more than 1 in every 20.
You’re my hero. Bless you and the work you do.
I am staying home as much as possible. It is an act of love, logic, and science.
Thank you for this post and for everything that you are doing for the greater good on the front lines.
I’m so done with it too. So done that I support Trump going back on the rally circuit without delay. Free choice.
Thank you Dear Doctor Enough – I cherish all of you and all that you do. I honor you and all of you who are on the front lines and all who back you up. A great many of us do. Just ignorant people and desperate people are clinging to the only things they can comprehend. So very many people these days are so out of touch with reality. Please ignore them, talking to them is as the saying goes, like casting pearls before swine – they don’t have a clue what a pearl is, so the pearls are wasted. We love you, pray for you send you all our love and support. Sorry it is not more, but we hear you and love and appreciate you and are so sorry for all the heart break you all are experiencing all day every day. God bless and keep you well and strong. I know all the people you are helping at the hospital are so grateful for all your loving care and expertise and being there for them. I know if they have gone to Heaven, they are Angels now, on your side sending you their loving gratitude, strength and resolve to help you all make it through each moment of each of the very very hard and challenging heart breaking moments, hours and days you are going through. We love you Doctor Enough and all your fellow Angels on earth doing all that you can to save us and help us. God bless you all.
Yes. Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. I’m feeling much the same way. As a teacher, there are people I really don’t want to face next year when we are back in session because of the things they have posted on social media. It’s showing true colors and it both frightens and saddens me.
Thank you for this post–which is small, compared to EVERYTHING ELSE you are doing right now–but it comforted me to “hear” it. It is somehow reassuring to know i’m not alone in my frustration–constantly being disgusted by the ignorance being posted by “friends” on social media (and politicians in the news). As yet, I’ve only “snoozed” those friends; honestly, I still hope I can educate some of them and bring them back to sanity (others are obviously too far gone already)…and perhaps after a short respite, my stupid-stamina will be refreshed.
I just wanted to echo the thanks (for EVERYTHING you’re doing!)–I truly believe most folks have the decency (and basic understanding) to grasp the risks you’re taking and sacrifices you’re making–even if they don’t express it. And I hope the self-entitled embarrassments to humanity are just an (unfortunate) vocal minority.
I also wanted to convey that you are not alone in your frustration–not to imply I’m on the front lines–just another person annoyed by the barrage of idiocy.
Please take care of yourself!
I hear you. I’m sorry. Thank you.
I know. My wife is a nurse. I have seen her change since this all began. Her frustrations sound like you. Actually…if I change surgeon to nurse, it is what I know she is experiencing. Please know that a huge portion of the people are doing what they are supposed to do. 7 weeks in the house for me, 6 times out to run food or script runs. You keep on keeping on Doctor.
While I hear what you are writing, you are not aptly portraying how other people feel who may not be an “essential worker” or hold the same beliefs as you. Not everyone is trying to hold up traffic or go against legislation. This view is too simplistic. Other people are also not aptly portraying how you feel. You have seen the direct and indirect effects of Co-Vid19, they haven’t. They are ignoring the wisdom that you offer.
Instead of antagonizing one another, do you think that there is a middle ground or is this an impasse that cannot be solved?
Where is the middle ground in blocking traffic into and out of a hospital.? There should never be middle ground here. It was pure self indulgent priviledge.
Keep up the good fight. I think you will earn many new friends for each old “friend” that you are cutting loose. I have doctors and nurses in my family, and you have encapsulated the feelings I have seen and heard them express very nicely here.
Sensible people very much appreciate you!!
Just wanted to say I’m with you, and so many of my friends and loved ones are, too. I have many loved ones who are healthcare professionals on the front lies with you, and I want all of you safe, rested, protected and appreciated. It’s so tempting to tell the ignorant, selfish, jerks, the conspiracy theorists and the President to go for it – let natural selection take its course, except that they are putting you all, first and foremost, at risk. Keep up the good fight. Keep blocking the idiots. You are appreciated.
Thank you for your work and everything you are doing. Everyone working in health care right now deserves so much for their bravery. This is an opportunity for us to come together in whatever ways we can. Please know that many, many more people support you and the measures that are being taken, than those who don’t.
This is the best thing I’ve read all week.
As a Canadian I’m appalled at the behaviour of the American government (and millions of its citizens) at all levels. I have been for a while (since January 2017, actually) but COVID has brought all the filth to the surface and put it front and center.
I want you to know that we see you and appreciate you. I barely have the strength to be a keyboard warrior for the cause and hundreds of thousands of people like you are out there literally putting your lives on the line. To say I’m in awe would be an understatement. Thank you doesn’t even come close to what you deserve, but it’s all I can offer at this time. So thank you.
To all those who think their personal freedom or economics trumps the health of the greater community, I have no kind words for you. Pull your heads out of your asses, you selfish, ignorant twatwaffles.
I will forever be grateful to you for introducing me to the word twatwaffles.
We must have “Butters” on our “Twatwaffles”!
Sending you love and solidarity and strength from Canada. There is lots of ambivalence here too. But I do everything I can to follow our current guidelines. Stay strong and I hope you get some rest.
Thank you so much for all you do everyday. The work you do is appreciated. It doesn’t seem that a lot of these people actually understand the fact of how contagious this is. Heart disease and car accidents are not.
Shared in my Nurse Eric FB page. I’ve gained a little traction in the “Shut the Fuck Up” movement. Beautiful post. Thank you!
Thank you for what you are doing both for your patients and for spreading the word.
I do hope for your sake that when this slows down you find that friends, real friends, make us all “enough” even when they don’t listen to or agree with everything we say. Life is too short and fragile as it is, as I know you know better than most as a doctor.
A very well written article that should be titled: white privilege in a pandemic.
Thank you for all you are doing to keep people safe. I’m sorry people are not taking this seriously and endangering not only themselves and the lives of others in the process.
I work retail. When I go out it’s just to work, where thankfully we are given masks. If I dont have work I stay home. I wish there was more I could do to thank you, but I do understand the importance of social distancing. I dont know if you’ll actually see this, but you are appreciated and what you do, does matter.
Thank you again.
After reading this I really want to be your friend. 🙂 Keep going, don’t feel down, you are on the right path!
Thank you for this blog. You are entitled to vent. Which is one helluva lot better than having to assign a vent. Or worse yet, be put on a vent.
Thank you for all you do. Seriously. This must feel like an uphill battle every day. I have a hunch how hard this must be on you. I have had to unfriend some people during this pandemic as well. I also cannot stand the rampant dumbassery being exhibited by so many who feel like this is no big deal because “the flu kills a lot more people than Covid”.
You might find my Coronavirus blog interesting. It’s on obliviots.net.
Keep up the great work. I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel for you – and for all of us.
I seriously do not understand how a Human being, can treat any other human being with such negativity. I understand people are frustrated, uncertain, a little fearful (maybe a lot) BUT when they spew their feelings onto anyone else do they forget the other person, is also a human. Even if you do not like what our new weird world is, the people you are treating badly did not create or ask for this. They too are dealing with high emotions and negative thoughts, they too are trying to navigate a situation that has no play book. I too am weeding out so called friends, groups, acquaintances as during this their true colors have painted a very sad picture.
Prayers for all HUMANS no matter how or why
Thank you thank you thank you! Thank you for saying what needed to be said!
Thank you for your honest, informative and heart felt wrtings. I live in TN and tomorrow I will be able to go into a restaurant, but I won’t. I could get a tatoo, get manicures and get my hair cut, but I won’t. The horror of the Covid- 19 virus coupled with a stent in my heart that is over 20 years old will keep me staying home. I am able to work from home, my husband is retired and he won’t be going out either. I want to live, he wants to live and neither of us want to live with the fact that we could unknowingly pass on this virus by just being out. These guys who show up with guns to say put us back to work are echoing what everyone would like to help make happen. This is a novel virus which means we do not know that much about it. If you have any clotting issues, think about how badly you want to go out and then how you feel about living. Don’t be foolish or ignorant. Protect yourself, protect your family and protect everyone else.
There are many of us appalled at the same things. I can understand your frustration and even your rage. I pray for you and others like you every night. Some of us are trying by staying home and doing the right thing. Bless you for all you do. Thank you for being a voice of reason in this very difficult ult time.
